Learn More about our 2026 Lenten Appeal
Our new Lenten Appeal for 2026 will be an offering for Casa Franciscana Mission, Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. Located 450 miles south of Phoenix, the Mission serves the poor and marginalized of the area through many ministries of feeding, health care, education and shelter. Casa Franciscana is administered and served by Franciscan friars and staffed by local residents.
When and how did Casa Franciscana Mission begin?
The Mission dates back to 1968, when the Obregon Diocese in Northern Mexico asked the Franciscan Province of Santa Barbara, California, to provide pastoral care the English-speaking community at San Carlos, Mexico, community. The friars agreed to minister this care to San Carlos under the condition that they could also serve the poor in the neighboring city of Guaymas. From those humble beginnings, the seeds of the Mission sprouted and grew. We are partnering with Casa Franciscana and hope to help them continue to offer vital services to their population.
Each year we offer a Lenten Activity Guide that is a fun way to better know our lenten partners. Please download this fun and interactive guide and enjoy it with your family. We hope you already have a rice box and if not, please visit the parish office and grab one!

Join a Seasonal Small Group - To the Heights: Sharing God’s Gifts
Seasonal small groups are a great way to step into deeper faith and community without a long-term commitment. They offer an easy, welcoming opportunity to meet new people in the parish, build meaningful connections, and share the journey of a particular season, like Lent, together. Because they’re short-term, seasonal groups are perfect for “testing the waters” of small groups, especially if you’ve never participated before or your schedule is full.
