During this Easter season, we lift to you our Christian brothers and sisters in Africa. In imitation of the merciful Jesus, may they be able to give prophetic witness to reconciliation, justice, and peace. Amen.  

In the light of this Eastertide, dear Lord of Life, let us rejoice and embrace each other. Let us forgive and be forgiven. Let our Alleluias spill out into the streets and fields where we abide. In our poverty and our wealth, in our sufferings and triumphs, fill us to bursting with the joy of this Good News. You have set us free. Alleluia! Amen.  

Cast away your troublesome cares! Put aside your wearisome distractions! Give yourself time to converse with God, and take your rest awhile in him. Enter into the secret chamber of your heart, leave everything out side but God, and when you have shut the door, then truly seek him. Amen.  

I pray to you today Lord, help me to be open to my own poverty. To be honest about my weaknesses. To realize I cannot fix everything. I long for the gentle touch of you Jesus, to set me free of these longings. One word from you Lord to touch me, to give me courage, to touch my whole being, that I may receive the healing of simple humility and charity. Amen.  

Lord Jesus, we beseech your infinite mercy for our loved ones who you have taken in their final steps towards new and everlasting life. You promised eternal salvation so generously to all who believe in you. O Lord, we are yours, and you are with us. In your infinite goodness, please grant eternal rest to our loved ones and may your perpetual light shine upon them. Amen.  

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the beauty of this sunrise of a new day. Through the life-giving power of your Holy Spirit, you have given me another opportunity to grow in my faith, my hope in you, and my love for you by serving you and my neighbor. Guide me in my work today, and show me how to bear fruit and find joy in all that I do. Help me to become the person you want me to be so that I can reveal your love to others. Amen.
