Rev. Kevin F. Novack, born November 9, 1954, born into eternal life July 11, 2025, was the second child born to Marilyn (Miller) and Thomas Novack. He is survived by all his siblings, Gregory, Clifford, Marcie (Brian) Hester, Rochelle (Randy) Schonfield, Renee (Craig) Youngberg, and Amy Novack. Survived also by several nieces and nephews, including Jessie Hester -- who for two years provided compassionate and competent care to her uncle -- and great nieces and nephews. Fr. Kevin was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in the Paulist Fathers on May 16, 1981, having finished his M. Div. at Catholic University in Washington DC. As a Paulist Father, Fr Kevin provided campus ministry in Columbus,OH; Boulder CO; and San Diego CA. In the diocese of Pueblo, CO he served in parish ministry in Grand Junction, Telluride, Eucla, Cortez, Mancos, Dolores, Dove Creek, Rico, Pueblo, Canyon City and finally at St. Columba Catholic Church in Durango.

He served for many years on the Pueblo diocesan liturgical Commission. A gifted artist, Fr. Kevin also had several art shows featuring his religious, representational, and abstract art, as well as being commissioned to create religious art by several parishes across multiple states. He was also a gifted pianist and composer of music.

A Vigil service will be held at 5:30PM on July 17th at St. Columba Catholic Church, 1800 E. 2nd Ave., Druango, CO. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on July 18th, also at St. Columba Catholic Church, with a light luncheon to follow. The vigil and funeral services will be presided over by the Very Rev. Derrek Scott, Vicar General for the Catholic Diocese of Pueblo.

A special note of thanks to the outstanding care of Common Spirit Hospice (Mercy Hospice), friend Marie Sweeney, professional caregivers Destinee Herrera, Kelly Brown, and Victoria Herrera; close friends and parish volunteers who, for weeks at a time, provided care around the clock, and also provided home cooked meals over the last year.
