Visit Los Achiotes community and Feeding Center and see firsthand what our Lenten Appeal offering to Food for The Poor has done to help the community. We will meet the beneficiaries and hear their stories.


Costs:

 $1,150 per person in a double shared room or $1,400 for single occupancy for the land package which includes all expenses while in Honduras. Land Package includes ground transportation by air-conditioned bus in Honduras, a safe and secure hotel or retreat center (4 nights – double occupancy), all meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. A Food for the Poor Group Leader, partner group leaders, translators, and security will be present with the group. The priority of FFTP is our safety. The airfare is additional and is approximately $850 from Albuquerque. We will fly into San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The trip will require an overnight in Atlanta enroute to San Pedro Sula. 



Activities Include: Visiting the Los Achiotes community, school, and feeding center, serving meals, and interacting with the children; assisting with food distribution and stopping by a nearby town, Travasia, that is in great need; attending Mass and visiting a truck driving school which provides an opportunity to move people out of poverty through job training.

If you plan to go, you must have a valid passport! 

If you do not have a current US Passport, go to http://travel.state.gov//passport

Time delays are frequent in obtaining passports.


Vaccinations: There are no vaccinations required. You might want to check with your physician prior to traveling.


Clothing: Out of respect for the local people, plan to wear lightweight, long pants (capri pants are okay) and short-sleeved shirts (no tank tops) comfortable, closed-toe shoes are also a must. 


Cancellation Policies: A non-refundable $100 deposit is due with your application. The balance of your land package is due 60 days prior to departure. FFTP will notify us when to purchase your airline tickets. Do not book any flights until we receive this information from the Missions Department.
